Connecting BC’s Sport Leaders, Shaping the Future of Sport Events

Richmond, BC – November 21, 2025 – Sport BC, Toa Consulting and Richmond Sport Hosting, hosted the inaugural Sport Event Exchange BC (SEEBC) conference, bringing together over 175 sport leaders, municipalities, and organizations from across British Columbia. This landmark event marks a pivotal step in strengthening BC’s sport hosting and tourism sector by fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships.

The conference featured an inspiring keynote by Olympian and World Champion Evan Dunfee, who shared insights on resilience, teamwork, and excellence, motivating attendees to elevate their approach to sport event hosting. The program was expertly guided by Jody Vance, a highly respected broadcaster with extensive experience in local and international events including most recently the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. Her professionalism and energy ensured sessions ran smoothly, engaging participants and maintaining momentum throughout the day.

A highlight of SEEBC was the Power Play Meetings — dynamic, 12-minute “speed dating” sessions designed to create meaningful connections between event rights holders and host destinations. This fast-paced format enabled participants to explore strategic partnerships, expand event portfolios, and identify the perfect host cities, turning ideas into actionable outcomes that will have lasting impact on BC’s sport sector.

SEEBC was made possible through the support of its sponsors. Premier Partners, Tourism Nanaimo and Tourism Prince George, set the stage for the event’s success, while Supporting Partners, VSB Apparel and Impact Canopy, contributed to a seamless attendee experience. Community Partners and Vendors including Discover Surrey, Coronation Recognition, and I·SPARC enriched the program, and Innovation Sponsors Discover Langley City and The Private Network, Social Engagement Sponsors Discover Langley City and Traxx, and Registration Sponsors ITP Sport and oneBADGEsport ensured every operational detail was covered. Our Value in Kind sponsors, The Juice Truck, Art on Stone, and Indus Valley Foods, provided additional support that enhanced the attendee experience.

Through panels, workshops, and targeted networking, SEEBC set a new benchmark for sport event collaboration in British Columbia. By connecting rights holders, host cities, and industry leaders, the conference will play a critical role in shaping the province’s sport hosting landscape and fostering long-term growth, innovation, and community engagement.
