Captain of Commonwealth Games Rugby Sevens squad named Player of the Year

The Canadian Rugby Foundation announced the results of a Canada-wide vote for the Canadian Sevens Rugby Player of the Year: Phil Mack.

Victoria-native Mack captained the Rugby Sevens squad at the 2010 Commonwealth Games last month in Delhi and during tours for the 2009-10 Sevens World Series.

A total of 1,188 Canadian rugby fans, coaches and players cast their votes to give the UVic Vike the title. Mack was also recognized as Player of the Year in 2007 for his contribution to the national sevens program.
