KidSport BC and Acuitas Therapeutics Announce Multi-Year Partnership

The three-year sponsorship will help more kids experience sport

Vancouver, BC:  KidSport BC is thrilled to announce a new three-year partnership with Acuitas Therapeutics that will give more kids the opportunity to experience the positive benefits of sport participation.

“We are incredibly grateful to Acuitas Therapeutics for their generous commitment to KidSport,” says KidSport BC’s fundraising manager, Angela Crowther. “The past couple of years have been difficult for fundraising. The partnership with Acuitas will help us meet the growing demand for support in the communities we serve. Thank you, Acuitas Therapeutics, for your generous support.”

Acuitas’ sponsorship will help support KidSport BC’s Provincial Fund, which assists kids from families that need help to cover the cost of sport registration fees. The fund supports kids in more than 70 communities across BC that don’t have a KidSport chapter, and more locally through several chapters throughout the Lower Mainland.

“The partnership between Acuitas and KidSport BC is an important one,” said Abi Coman-Walker, Chief Operating Officer of Acuitas Therapeutics. She added: “Access to exercise is key for the emotional and physical development of a child. What they learn through teamwork also lays the foundation for so much in their future. When a child is happy and healthy, they have the ability to realize their full potential. We’re delighted to be able to play a role in this.”

The KidSport concept was launched in 1993 by board and staff at Sport BC as a way to help address the challenges faced by many families when registering their children in organized sport. Since then, the program has disbursed over $17M in grants to help more than 70,400 kids across British Columbia participate in sports.
