The BC Surrey Eagles Sledge Hockey Team Win Gold
The BC Surrey Eagles sledge hockey team of SportAbililty CP Sports of BC competed in the 7th Annual Western Canada Sledge Hockey Tournament in Edmonton, Alberta.
The tournament of three teams in the Senior A division consisted of The Edmonton Impact, Manitoba Moose and the Surrey Eagles. All five Games were a strong battle; the Surrey Eagle’s ended the Tournament with a record of 4-1, taking home the Gold medal. The Final game played against the Edmonton Impact had a great team effort but Player Josh Macdonald the rookie was outstanding, scoring a hat trick in the final game to bring the Mat Cook memorial cup back to BC for the second year in a row.
The athlete’s on the BC Surrey eagles are the best in the province and now the best in Western Canada. Honorable mention has to be sent out the line of Scott Karrasch, Bruce Reding, James Gemmel, Kris Grace, Josh Macdonald and Joe Skillen our goalie and the team for their striking performance throughout the weekend.
Our athlete’s have overcome many obstacles to get where we are and by the help of the coaching staff and a team effort, keeps the BC Surrey Eagles a winning team. We are more than just a team we are a family that keeps growing. As a member on the Provincial sledge hockey team and the Sledge Hockey Developmental Coordinator for Sportabiltiy BC it was a pleasure and an honor to play with my team and be a part of the 7th Annual Western Canada Sledge Hockey Tournament.

This weekend March 5-6 at the Surrey Sport Complex the BC Sledge Hockey team will be having 3 games this weekend. Saturday there will be 2 ice times 12:30 – 2pm and 4 – 5:30pm. Sunday there will be 1 ice time 9-1030 am: Come out and meet your provincial team and watch us compete in a Blue Vs White provincial tournament.
