The BC Snowboard Association (BCSA) would like to thank everyone who supported the Canada Games On-Line Auction. Through the donations provided, BC Snowboard was able to raise nearly $4000.00 to help support the 2011 Canada Games BC Snowboard athletes in their preparation for the Games.

Candice Drouin, Lead Coach for BC Snowboard’s Canada Games Team adds, “I would like to thank all the companies and individuals who donated items for the auction and I would also like to thank all the people who bid and purchased auction items. This fundraiser was a huge success because of all the support from the snowboard community!”

The Canada Games are a multi-sport event held every 4 years in Canada. For many sports these games are an integral step for athletes to reach International competition. Snowboarding made its debut as a demonstration sport at the 2007 Canada Winter Games held in Whitehorse, Yukon with Halfpipe and Parallel Giant Slalom events. During the 2011 Games not only is snowboarding a full flag event but have also added the immensely popular Snowboard Cross event to the roster.

The 2011 Canada Games are scheduled to be held in Halifax, Nova Scotia during February 12-27, 2011. The snowboard events are set to take place during the second week of competition.
