The British Columbia Golf Association announces new name
Effective November 1, 2010, with the full approval of the association’s Board of Directors, the British Columbia Golf Association (BCGA) will be known as “British Columbia Golf”, a member-based organization governed by the BCGA.
“As the governing body and Provincial Sport Organization for golf in British Columbia it is important the association be recognized by the public,” said Kris Jonasson, executive director of British Columbia Golf. “Our Board of Directors has adopted the change to British Columbia Golf in order to ensure there is no confusion in the marketplace with other existing brands.”
EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY – ALL MEDIA OUTLETS, GOLF FACILITIES AND STAKEHOLDERS ARE REQUESTED TO UTILIZE THE NAME “BRITISH COLUMBIA GOLF” WHEN REFERING TO THE PROVINCIAL SPORT ORGANIZATION FOR GOLF IN BRITISH COLUMBIA.
The change to the British Columbia Golf brand will not result in any changes to the distinctive combination of programming and services the association is already know for. The contact information for British Columbia Golf staff will not change as a result of this transition, however the association’s website can now be found at britishcolumbiagolf.org.
