Handful of BC Skaters compete on home ice at 2011 Figure Skating Nationals

Skate Canada has announced that the 2011 BMO Canadian Figure Skating Championships and the 2011 BMO Junior Nationals will be held in Victoria, BC. This event will feature the country’s best figure skaters as they take to the ice on January 17 – 23, 2011 at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. The junior and senior divisions will include 21 BC Skaters who will compete for the chance to represent the Canadian National Team at the 2011 ISU World Figure Skating Championships. In the spotlight, Coquitlam’s Kevin Reynolds will be looking to upset the three-time Canadian Champion, Patrick Chan.  Reynolds is not the only BC skater who is favoured to claim a podium spot. Dance pairs, Tarrah Harvey and Keith Ganon in senior, and juniors Nicole Orford and Thomas Williams will also be favoured to claim a top 5 finish.
