BC five-time gold medalist, Lauren Woolstencroft, nominated for Laureus World Sports Award
Lauren Woolstencroft of North Vancouver BC, has been nominated for the 2011 Laureus World Sports Award. Her five gold medal finishes at the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Games have earned her a nomination for one of the most prestigious awards, honouring sporting achievements in 2010. This award is based on a voting committee composed of 46 of the world’s top sportsmen and sportswomen. Some of the other nominees for the Laureus World Sports Awards include Kobe Bryant, Serena Williams, and Manny Pacquiao. The winners, in several categories, will be revealed on Monday, Feb 7 at a televised award ceremony in Abu Dhabi.
