BC athletes hit the slopes hard this weekend for World Cup wins
World Cup season has begun and BC’s best skiers and snowboarders are tearing up the slopes on the World Cup circuit. Stories from this weekend include:
- Olympic gold medalist Ashleigh McIvor of Whistler, BC took home a second-place finish at Innichen-San Candido, Italy in her second race of the season. McIvor won gold in the Vancouver 2010 Olympic skicross event.
- Kelowna’s Kelsey Serwa, also had a strong showing at Innichen-San Candido, earning her first World Cup medal of the season with a second-place finish in the season opener.
- Other strong finishes include an 8th place showing in downhill for Manny Osborne-Paradis, Sport BC’s 2010 Senior Male Athlete of the Year, and a 10th place finish for Whistler’s Robbie Dixon.
