Victoria swimmer selected as flag bearer for Youth Olympic Games in Singapore

BC-based swimmer Jeremy Bagshaw will hold a special place in history as Canada’s flagbearer at the first-ever Youth Olympic Games. The Games, which begin August 14 in Singapore, will feature 60 of Canada’s rising stars.

Bagshaw is quoted on the Swimming Canada website as saying: “For me, being selected flag bearer is a huge honour,” said Bagshaw. “It would be an honour for any athlete, but I was born in Singapore and to lead Canada into the Games there makes me extremely proud. It will be incredible to lead all the athletes into a Games like this.”
